Managing Diabetes
Unlike many health problems, your healthcare team is very important in diabetes. It is a disease that must be managed by your healthcare team first yourself and then with your family (including your doctor, nutritionist, diabetes educator, and pharmacist).
-Develop a healthy eating and activity plan for yourself.
- Measure your blood sugar daily and keep track of the results.
-Learn the symptoms of high or low blood sugar and what to do about it.
-Learn to make insulin yourself.
- Whoever is in your close circle (spouse, child, grandchild) should learn how to make insulin.
-Inspect your feet, skin, and eyes occasionally to catch problems early.
- Take the necessary materials such as medicine, glucose meter, needle and store them properly.
The importance of exercising; It is important for diabetics to exercise. Appropriate exercise type and program should be applied to the person.
Every year '14 NOVEMBER' is determined as WORLD DIABETES DAY.
