Information About Glutathione

Glutathione is essential for the healthy functioning of mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells. Damaged or dysfunctional mitochondria have a critical role in the cancerization process. Glutathione levels should be kept high to stay healthy, improve your performance, prevent diseases and protect from the effects of aging, immune function and control inflammation. Research shows that high glutathione levels reduce muscle damage, shorten muscle recovery time, increase muscle strength and endurance, and shift metabolism to muscle building rather than fat storage. After the age of 20, natural glutathione production decreases by an average of 10 percent per decade.

The human body needs various physiological and biochemical mechanisms to maintain its health. Therefore, chemicals and enzymes produced by cells metabolize harmful substances for the body and remove them from the body. Oxygen radicals produced during the production of energy for the body by the use of oxygen by the cells must be eliminated. This is where the glutathione molecule plays an important role.

Glutathione is a protein produced by cells in our body and consists of three amino acids. It is formed by the combination of the amino acids glycine, cysteine and glutamate. It is responsible for neutralizing and removing harmful substances for the body by using special chemical bonds in its structure. Every cell in the body produces energy from the nutrients obtained through nutrition for the continuation of our body's life. Our cells perform a significant part of this energy production by metabolizing nutrients with oxygen obtained through the air. Thanks to this, a high amount of energy is produced, but the formation of some harmful molecules called reactive oxygen radicals cannot be prevented.

Reactive oxygen radicals are active and can disrupt the structure of other chemical substances in the body. In this case, they are substances that have a role in the development of many important diseases along with cancer and rheumatological diseases. In order to clear these radicals from the body, our cells have developed defense mechanisms. Some enzymes metabolize and remove reactive oxygen radicals. By binding radicals in different molecules to itself, it terminates their harmful effects and ensures that they are eliminated from the body. Thanks to these molecules, it assumes a protective role against damage and diseases that may be caused by radicals in the tissues.

Thanks to the cysteine amino acid in the structure of the glutathione molecule, it is one of the antioxidants that binds reactive oxygen radicals, ending their harmful effects at the tissue level and ensuring their removal from the body. Glutathione facilitates the regeneration of enzymes that metabolize reactive oxygen radicals and fight them more effectively. Therefore, the glutathione molecule plays an important role in maintaining the health of the body. Among the health problems that may occur; It can cause heart attack, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, joint rheumatism, cancer, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, diabetes, asthma and cataract diseases.

Glutathione is one of the most important molecules for staying healthy and preventing disease. The amount of glutathione can be increased by ingesting foods rich in amino acids. To increase glutathione production; Garlic, broccoli, nuts, onions, eggs, fish and chicken are among the foods that should be consumed. In addition, smoking and alcohol should not be consumed. It is very important to stay away from ready-made and processed foods and to gain regular sleep habits.
