Mistakes Made in Skin Care

Hormonal changes in our body that start with adolescence, excess oil production and transition to adulthood cause skin problems in our eating habits and lifestyle.

Hormones are molecules that play an important role in regulating growth and metabolism. They are released from the endocrine glands and mix with the blood. With puberty, the level of androgen hormone rises. The rising hormone level leads to the enlargement of the sebaceous glands under the skin. Enlarged sebaceous glands produce more sebum, which excess sebum can clog pores and cause bacteria to multiply. Hormone levels change during puberty, pregnancy and menstruation. Hormonal fluctuations can cause acne breakouts. Fluctuations in hormone levels cause excessive oil production and clogging of hair follicles. The increase in bacteria in the hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells is also one of the main causes of acne formation.

Skin care is very important for women and men. Making our skin look healthy, beautiful and smooth is not a detail, it is a condition that should be. However, mistakes made unknowingly in skin care can disrupt our skin structure. That's why we wanted to take a look at the mistakes made in skin care;

-Washing Too Much Face

Yes, washing the face is a must, but washing the face too much during the day dries the skin and damages the skin barrier. This causes your skin to become irritated. If you have oily, combination or acne-prone skin, it will be enough to wash your face one morning and one night before going to bed. If you are experiencing excessive sweating, you should definitely wash your face after excessive sweating.

-Frequent face-to-face contact

Every person is affected by formations such as workload, sweating and stress during the day, and often unintentionally takes his hand to his face. Since our hands are not constantly clean during the day, we carry the bacteria and microbes we have on our faces. Therefore, everyone should avoid contact of hands to face for their own skin health.

-Using Faulty Products

Knowing your skin type will help you a lot in deciding which products to use. It is important to choose products that are suitable for your skin type. If you have dry skin, you should prefer to use products with moisturizing properties. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you should use products suitable for acne that do not have a moisturizing effect.

Using too many different products can tire your skin and cause irritation. Therefore, it will be the right decision to use as much product as necessary and choose the one according to your skin type, not too many products.

-Not Removing Makeup

It is always very important to clean the skin using the right products, but sleeping with makeup is one of the biggest mistakes made for the skin. Before applying make-up, your skin should be clean, then the moisturizer and sunscreen you use for your skin should be applied and then make-up should be applied. Do not go to bed at night without removing your make-up, as the skin pores are already closed with make-up. As a result of night sweats or when sebum production increases, the dirt accumulated on the skin remaining with make-up will cause your skin to wear out. We recommend that you do your night care routine 1-2 hours before going to bed.

-Exfoliating too much

You can exfoliate once or twice a week, depending on the needs of your skin. Exfoliating too much wears out the skin barrier, skin sensitization occurs, and can cause acne and inflammation.

-Not Using Sunscreen

Early signs of aging and various skin problems may occur on the skin that is directly exposed to the sun. Therefore, regardless of the season, you should definitely apply sunscreen before going out.

We wish you healthy days…
